Greve in Chianti

My first, but certainly not my last, experience with staying at an Agriturismo lodging was at Podere Campriano. The accommodations were great: very clean, comfortable, affordable, and the breakfasts were superb. The property is incredibly lovely surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and endless hedges of fragrant rosemary that led up the small hill to the swimming pool (awesome views). Elena was a great host - very friendly and helpful. The town of Greve in Chianti is just a short walk from the lodging and is full of great restaurants, shops, wine tasting and more.

On our first trip to Italy five years ago, we visited Greve-in-Chianti with the late, great guide extraordinaire Eugenio Martinez. Took a cooking class at the Montagliari Winery, in which we tasted the best superTuscans that the vintner David Migliorini had to offer. A magic day.
