Great Trattoria in Venice

I highly recommend this canal side restaurant in the Cannaregio district of Venice. There is no menu. You have to take when the chef decides to cook for the day - often fish. But it's all great! They just keep bringing out one course after another. You sit along the canal on these long cafeteria style tables and end up striking up a conversation with the people around you - usually locals. They serve both lunch and dinner but we've only been for dinner -- twice on two different trips to Venice. I don't remember exactly what we paid but it was quite reasonable considering the quality of the meal. It's called "Trattoria Della Marisa." Can't wait to go there again!

Hi,
This sounds great. Do you remember the location? Are reservations recommended?

Yes - It's on the Cannaregio Canal which is just north? of the train station. It's close to the Ghetto. If you walk along the canal from the Point of Three Arches towards the open water, it's on the left side. Sorry my directions aren't more specific but it's hard to give directions in Venice. You should check their website for more information and yes, I would definately make reservations.
I hope you like it. We're going to be there in about three weeks!
