First of all, visit Trieste. It’s a wonderful city with great restaurants and nice sites in a compact setting on the Adriatic. We stayed at the 12 room hotel All’Arco. A helpful and knowledgeable staff added to the spotless, comfortable rooms. If you go, ask for #6 or #9 each with a terrace overlooking the Arco Riccardo. The continental breakfast is only €4.40. If you like seafood, dine at Hostoria Malcanton - phenomenal seafood risotto! For something typically Triestrian, try the Bier Stube. Interesting entrees with an Austrian flare dating to the times when Trieste was of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
