Even though I didn't find them in Rick Steves' books I highly,highly recommend these places in Rome and Sorrento. "Hotel De Petris" in Rome, very close to Trevi Fountain , spacious, modern and VERY clean rooms, amazing staff, and great prices; we paid 64 euros per night!
"Villa Monica" in Sorrento, oh! We loved this place , great views, very good breakfast, spotless rooms, and the most wonderful host, Pasquale. (85 euros per night in February)
We found our hotel in Paris, because somebody wrote about it here, so hopefully now I can help somebody finding their home away from home with this review. Happy travels!
