Has anyone stayed at the Grand Hotel Oriente in Naples? What is your opinion? Do they offer a RS%? We are members of the South of Italy tour, which ends at this hotel. Since we are staying in Naples a few days afterwards, is the hotel a good base? The Grand Hotel Oriente is not listed in RS guidebooks as one of his recommended hotels...so any feedback is greatly appreciated.

We are also taking the South of Italy tour, in Sept. not sure when your trip was/is.
We went ahead and booked a couple extra days here at the end of the tour after reading reviews, it seemed close to areas we would want to go too.
Did you end up liking this hotel if your tour has already happened?

We went on the South of Italy tour in May. While our tour did not stay at this hotel because it was full we did have our cocktail hour in the bar on our last night. The bar and restaurant are on the top floor and have a lovely outdoor space with a nice view of Naples. The location is good and from the bits of the hotel I saw it would be an excellent choice. We stayed at the Mercure Napoli Centro Angioino which was a few blocks away and had nice enough rooms but a terrible breakfast. All the other places we stayed on the tour were very nice. It is a great tour and I have fond memories of it.
