Exploring Napoli, staying at an Airbnb - not sure if I've ever explored this particular area. But, I would love to stay at an Airbnb in a quiet, safe and a walk to a market to shop for food?
We enjoyed staying in Naples’ Chiaia neighborhood by the water.
Same! We stay in Chiaia, right by the US Consulate, steps from the Mergellina metro station. We go every Christmas and stay at the same Airbnb!
I’ve stayed in vac rental apartments twice there.
First time on Via Montecalvario leading up from Via Toledo in 2013.
The area looks gritty, as they say, but the people in Naples are friendly and helpful.
Second time we stayed right on Via Toledo near the Toledo metro station.
Easy to get about the city from there.
There are supermarkets dotted around, most are not very big but with variety enough.
Your biggest danger, I feel, in Naples, is getting run down by a scooter in the narrow streets.
I’ve been there three times and never felt unsafe.
