good cooking class in Florence ???

My wife is interested in doing a cooking class after our heart of italy tour in April and we will be staying near Florence for 5 days after the tour. Has anyone attended a class or cooking tour that is a half day or less in length that they would recommend. Thx

Sorry, but I didn't see this until after your April trip. My wife, daughter, and I did the Florencetown cooking class and market tour (www.florencetown.com), mentioned in Rick's "Italy 2013" book. Chef Giovanni did a great job and taught us to make tiramisu and fresh pasta from scratch (ravioli and tagliatelle) and we got to eat our creations! It was definitely a highlight of our trip to Italy.

I'm glad you posted a reply as I'm considering a class in Florence this July for myself and husband as we were unable to find a hands on cooking class in Varenna. What was the length of your class and approx. how much did they charge? We'll be in Florence for 4 days as well as Varenna for another 4 days. Thanks!

We highly recommend Casanova de Pescile just outside San Gimignano. A wonderful place and great people. We were there in 2012 and paid under 100 Euros each, this for a great cooking class, four courses, which of course was then served to us along with beautiful local wine. Anyone who wants a relaxed but busy 2 to 3 hour class will be satisfied by this great place. We will go back next time we are in San Gimignano.
