Gluten Free Hotel Al Piave?

We hope to be traveling this fall to Italy, VFR our daughter has discovered the Hotel Al Piaget in Venice. It has good reviews and looks very nice, (here comes the doubt) but is it really a gluten free hotel? Just wondering if any of you well traveled, experienced wanderers know. I should add here that when I searched the forum for Hotel Al Piaget many of the posts were dated three years and older. I’m hopeful to get some current recommendations. Thanks in advance!

From their website:

Upon request, we prepare special gluten-free breakfasts for guests with wheat allergies.

And

The Hotel Al Piave is the only hotel in Venice certified by AIC (Italian Celiac Association). Breakfast offers a vast menu of high quality, carefully selected gluten-free products for celiacs, as well as for guests who are lactose intolerant.

Our celiac guests can enjoy a copious breakfast with toasted bread, fruit juices, coffee, jams, a buffet of sweet and savory treats, biscuits and cereal, all gluten-free, to make the best start to your day and enjoy a healthy stay in Venice.

Special attention is also paid to our lactose intolerant guests, with the availability of soya milk or low lactose content Zymil – on request.

Thank you Jane. My daughter did share the information from their website. Have you ever stayed there or know of anyone who has?

The first question is --- Is gluten free a requirement or a preference?

Hey Frank! It’s definitely a requirement. She was diagnosed when she was a teenager all three of her blood tests were off the charts a quote from our family doctor, and that was over fifteen years ago. It would be awful if she were to become ill on our first trip abroad. Knowing her history we are trying to be cautious with all of our travel plans. We have seen many positive changes with regards to Celiac disease over the years. It is wonderful that in this day and age there are apps that will list Celiac friendly restaurants and hotels all around the world. That being said it would be nice to get some feedback from someone who has actually stayed at the Hotel Al Piaget.
