Florence: shopping for leather jacket and a good food tour

I will be in Florence in April and in addition to visiting museums i am interested in purchasing a nice leather jacket and also enjoying a good food tour. I have found some information on both activities on line and in guidebooks. I am interested in a personal experience as well. If you have had a good experience with either, I would be grateful for your input.

Been awhile but purchased a wallet at Via de Ginori 23r…. Wallet still in use. Remember it wasn’t cheap but also knew it wasn’t made in China.

Eating Europe is a very reputable Food Tour company. We have done a few in Rome with them.

Never refunded our money when we had to cancel during COVID. There are many other options just Google.

In 2019, we really enjoyed Walk of Italy Food Tour. As their website says, it was a part of Florence we hadn't really visited.

Appreciate the replies. Will check out the address for leather. I have looked at and actually taken tours with both Eating and Walks. Eating requires you book for 2 people and I'm traveling alone, Walks does not have a tour on the day I have available.

We bought leather jackets at Massimo Leather Massimos Florence. They weren't cheap but we've been happy with them. It's in the heart of the leather area, and probably other shops worth looking at. The place was full of American students from the university there. It was also fun to visit the nearby farmers market.

An update,
I was contacted by Eating Europe after I had tried to book their Sunset food tour without success due to the requirement of booking 2 people. They assisted me with booking the tour for 1 person.

We purchased my wallet and a couple bags from Scuola del Cuoio behind the Basilica di Santa Croce, and everything seemed reasonably priced. It's also a leather school that allows you to see a little behind the scenes.

I also came to mention the School of Leather, in the monastery associated with the Santa Croce church. It's a really unique place.
