First trip to Italy....Almalfi Coast....Hotel recommendations?? Restaurants?

Hello....my husband (age 48-57) and I will be traveling to Paris for 6 nights, then flying to Italy for 8 nights, the last two weeks of September. I have a few people tell me to stay in either Positano, Almalfi or Ravello. Looking for recommendations on hotels and places to eat, things to do. I really want to do the Blue grotto for sure. A friend told me about a hotel Convento Luna in Almalfi. We would like to stay at $250/night or less. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
