8 friends traveling together, so I want to make some restaurant reservations in advance of late September trip. Please weigh in on your favorite ristorante in Venice, Florence, Siena or Rome. I've been to all of these areas, but not for several years. I especially love the small intimate places that don't cost an arm and a leg. Thank you all in advance.
Siena: Osteria La Sosta di Violante. I just posted a review on the forum.
Thanks Jeff. Already had a reservation made after doing some reading. Your review supports our choice.
In the Vatican neighborhood we had two memorable dinners at Le Felizianerie.
Four of us had a wonderful meal in Venice at this restaurant:

My son recommended the restaurant and we stopped in just as they opened. We did not have reservations, but I'm sure you'd want to make them for 8 people. All four of us were happy with our fish and seafood selections, and if it is still on the menu, the chocolate cake with pistachio icing was excellent!
