Family short term lodging Rome

We will be traveling with our family in Italy in mid-June and plan to stay in Rome for only three nights. Typically an apartment works best for a family our size (two adults - four children ages 14-20) but since we are there for such a short time we are thinking of staying in a centrally located hotel with breakfast included. I expect we will have to reserve two rooms in a hotel but am wondering if anyone has stayed with a larger group like ours and has had any success with suites or apartments within hotels that are not too expensive.

I do a lot of 3 night stays and can usually find an apartment that will rent for 3 nights. I don't have a specific apartment to suggest for Rome as it's not a city I've spent a ton of time it but with a group of 6 you might want to look around for an apartment. Just to assess, I looked around a bit - there's definitely apartments big enough for your group.

Some hotels may have adjoining rooms, you might have to contact the propert directly, though.

You might spend some time searching Booking.com for possibilities. I think at their ages, the kids will all be considered to be adults.

We just visited Rome in November with 5 in our group. We stayed in an apartment on airbnb for four nights for a total of $313 which included a service fee and cleaning fee. It was about two blocks from the Vatican. We were able to easily catch buses close to the apartment and there was a 24 hour market close by. We had a small kitchen, a bathroom, and two rooms with beds. We felt very safe and comfortable. The manager of the apartment arranged pick up and delivery at the airport for $65 total each way. We were really glad to use that service as we arrived in the evening and were taken very quickly to the door of the apartment and did not have to mess with bus and train after a 14 hour flight. We bought groceries for two meals a day and ate out once a day and ate gelato nearly every day! Our favorite meal was crusty bread with cream cheese and salami or cream cheese and jam, fresh fruit, and olives. At the end of the four days we were delivered back to the airport, rented a car and visited more of Italy and Germany. We LOVED Rick's walking tours in Rome and each family member had them downloaded on either an ipod or iphone. One warning: the pickpockets in Rome are really good at what they do and a zippered pocket did not slow them down. We lost one of our iphones. I wouldn't keep anything in outside pockets at all. The buses get really crowded and you don't even notice a little extra bumping until you realize something is missing. Have a wonderful trip. I'm jealous! I LOVE Rome and it was incredible in November with the Christmas lights all over. Can't wait to go again.

The taxis from airport have a set rate of 50 euros I believe.. so was that 65 dollars or 65 euros?
