I’m in the midst of my Italian trip but wanted to share a boutique hotel on the island of Isola Bella at Stresa. I stayed two nights at Stresa in a cheaper hotel since I was going to the Stresa Music Festival. My third night I stayed at Boutique Hotel Elvezia. They have about six rooms that have been beautifully modernized, yet they’ve kept some of the original rough walls, etc. The view from the balcony watching the sun slowing setting with lone boats gently going by the island is something I will always remember. I splurged and reserved the corner room, so I had views from two sides of the room.
Room: large & spacious, fine linens, huge towels, modern room & bathroom, Stresa shampoos, etc.
Breakfast: views of the lake, lots of fresh sliced fruits & pastries served on plates.
I would equate the overall ambiance to an anniversary location.
