We just did this yesterday. My family did the Trastevere tour. It's a walking tour for up to 10 people maximum. It costs a bit, but you get a lovely tour with samples of the absolutely best food in Rome. The pasta lunch with wine was basically all you can eat and drink. Though after many food samples - good luck with that one. There was pasta and wine left on the table after everyone had their fill. Nice tour with history tidbits tossed in. I am glad we did this.
Can you tell what company offered this tour or maybe share a link?
Thanks,
Kaye
Kaye, here's the link we used to book our Eating Italy tour.: http://www.eatingitalyfoodtours.com We took the one offered for the Testaccio area and it was as wonderful as the Trastevere tour, as reported by barbnrob above. I am assuming it's the same company but if not, I can highly recommend this one, too. I see they also offer "eating tours" in Florence and Venice. Not only was the food delicious but we had an informative and interesting walking tour as well.
