A menu at an Italian web site shows a beer as being 0,33 cl. Surely I'm not interpreting this correctly that would be a volume way too small for a drink if cl is centiliter as I believe it does.
That's a small beer, 330 ml, the equivalent of a soda can.
I think there is a typo somewhere along the way, it should be saying 0,33 l or 33 cl. 0.33 cl would indeed be small for a beer
33 cl, or 330 ml is just over 11 ounces, which is close to a can of beer or soda and the standard measure. Some places might also sell by the half liter, 500 ml, especially if the beer is on tap,
Yes 330ml is the standard size for a bottle of beer. Tap measures will be half a litre, roughly a pint.
You're right. It should be 0,33 l or 33 cl. I can't believe they made that mistake. Doesn't anyone proofread their menu?
An ounce is just under 30 ml or 3 cl, so (0,33) 1/3 cl would be about 1/9 of an ounce!
And the French (metric) system is supposed to be so easy (Ha, Ha, LMAO).
Well, the metric system is easier, as converting between different units in this case just involves moving the decimal point. But that can, as you see, indeed lead to particular errors.
