There are testing sites all over the city - look for tents or small kiosks outside of pharmacies. You pay inside the pharmacy, go outside to get your test, and they will email (or you can go back for a printed copy) usually within an hour. It cost us about 20 euros and was very easy. We were just there a couple of weeks ago. There's one just down the street from the Pantheon, for example, and another one a couple of blocks from Campo de Fiori. Check online or you may be able to ask at your hotel. There is also a testing center at the FCO airport with quick turnaround as well.

I’ll echo the previous post - they are all over the city. We simply asked at our hotel, and they gave us directions to a pharmacy nearby doing testing, as well a suggestion of when to go. We walked to the pharmacy, filled out the paperwork, were swabbed by a very efficient and friendly pharmacist, and had our results in less than 20 minutes. 22 euros per person.

To echo the previous comments, we found the folks at the pharmacies very helpful. For peace of mind, we scheduled an appointment in advance as we found some places already booked up. The process was smooth and quick.
