COVD severity in Dolomites now and AM

I have an opportunity to make reservations to travel to northern Italy in three weeks. The CDC is saying it is ver high risk and advising not to go but I don’t know how accurate that is. The trip includes Milan, Lecco, Tirano, Lake Iseo, Trento, and Bressanone, to book or not to book that is the question. I am aware that there are no guarantees but I would like to know what my actual risk factor really is.

Depending on where you live, the risk is not necessarily vastly different vs. home.
The major issue for me would be: what happens if you have to spend an extra 10 days in Italy because a positive test prevents you from flying back home, if home is in the USA? That could well be a blocking point. Insurance can protect you against the cost involved, but time is another factor.
