Staying at Villa di Piazzano next month near Cortona … we will do some day tripping , Montepulciano etc but looking for some ideas for dinners not too far from the hotel ? If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated !

We stayed in Cortona for three months in an apartment a few years ago. Although we didn't always have dinner out, we did go back to this restaurant twice as we enjoyed the food and atmosphere. ADDÌ Braceria. It is on the main street Nazionale, down a beautiful little walkway, and right down from the Piazza della Repubblica. This is an absolute favorite location to have your wine and aperitivo - at Cafe Signorelli! Late afternoon your wine will be served with little snacks! We did this MANY times! You will love Cortona!

During our stay in October 2022, we had dinner twice at Locanda al Pozzo Antico. The chef, Paola, also teaches cooking classes there, and has the Dolce Maria B&B on the floors above her restaurant.

And I will also note that you will want to sit on the steps and take pictures of people on the steps at the City Hall in the Piazza della Repubblica! That is where they filmed Under the Tuscan Sun - but they added a water fountain.
