Cooking Class in Varenna, Lake Como Area

Does anone know of a cooking class in the lake Como Area. We heard of one called Restaurant ll Caminetto but we can't find a way to contact them. We heard they were located in Bellagio then they apparently moved to Varenna but we still can't find a way to contact them. Help!

We had the pleasure of participating in Chef Moreno's cooking class in September. What a fun, full memorable day! There are 2 pickup points to choose from, the Varenna ferry or garage off the town square. We were so full that we cancelled our dinner reservations that night.

I loved Chef Moreno's cooking class. It's not very hands-on, but it's very fun and you'll have the recipes to take home. We were served liberal amounts of food and wine throughout the class - dinner probably won't be necessary afterward. Chef Moreno answers email inquiries very quickly.

We took a class with Chef Marino about 16 months ago. It was one of our favorite things we did while in Italy. While it is more of a demo, we did get to do a few hands-on things. But, mostly we watched, we learned, and we ate! It was just so much fun and the fun was so good. My group of 7 was all glad we had very late dinner reservations that night as we were stuffed.

We got the recipes from him (be warned there are some typos so read them carefully before you start making them at home. We recreated the menu for our group of friends that traveled together in Italy and everything except the pasta came out great. I needed to practice making the pasta a few more times before serving it at a dinner party.

Mel,
You MUST take Chef Moreno's class! It is not just a cooking class, but gives you an intimate, humorous look at Italian life and culture. Chef Moreno is charming, warm, and incredibly funny. His class was literally THE highlight of a very highlight packed three weeks in Italy back in 2012. If we were to return to the Varenna area, we would ABSOLUTELY take his class again. It was one of the most enjoyable days I've spent anywhere, anytime.

What does Chef Moreno teach in the class? Also, what does the classes cost? We will be in Varenna in June and have a spare day. This sounds interesting and fun to fill the time.

We will be in Varenna the beginning of June, and are interested in possibly taking the class. I looked on the restaurant website, and no costs were listed. I am also curious about transportation to the restaurant, which it looks like they will provide. I would appreciate a ballpark figure for the class, and what it includes before I contact the restaurant. We are not wine drinkers, (we make up for it with food), and don't want to pay for something we will not use. Any specific info about cost and transportation there would be appreciated.

Rick's 2017 book states that the class is now €60 per person. But that includes your lunch, wine cookies and coffee. We took the class in 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had tortellini and risotto for lunch. We enjoyed it so much that we would have returned the next evening to the restaurant for dinner, but it was already fully booked.
