My husband and I are wanting to do a 1/2 day or a day cooking class. Has anyone done one in Parma or Florence? Will be going in October.

If you have a car, I can recommend a half-day cooking class near (SW of but not in) Florence. It's at Castello di Oliveto (also a winery) in the town of Castelfiorentino. It sits up on a hill outside the town, so get specific driving directions from them. Some friends and I took their class in 2010 and loved it - we made everything from scratch, including the ravioli! Then we ate it all, along with their wine - yum! You'll need to contact the Castello directly to see if they do individuals or just small groups or if they can fit you in with a few others. Good luck!
