Charming Inexpensive Rome Restaurant near Termini

Near Termini, close to the recommended Hotel Selene, we found ER Buchetto. Via del Vimiinale 2F. The only choice is porchetta: as a sandwich or "a tavola": sliced and served on wax paper with bread on the side. House wine (we had the red) was terrific. 3 Euros for a sandwich. The restaurant is small, seats maybe 10, but sandwiches can be ordered to go. We had 2 sandwiches, one order of sliced pork, a carafe of wine, sliced tomatoes, olives, marinated artichokes and a great conversation with the delightful owner for about 20 Euros. The best meal we had in Rome, definitely the most fun! Restaurant has been in the same place since 1890!

You go Nigel!!!! =] We stayed at the hotel Selene. It was very nice. Great location. Several restaurants in the area. WE were able to walk to the train station to go to the airport on our departure day. Too bad it took us 2 days to get home!!
