Casa Moricciani is a luxury villa in a small town in the Val d’Orcia region of Tuscany. My husband and I began traveling to Italy in 1992 and came upon Casa Moricciani in 2012. I believe it had opened the year before. I have had the benefit of staying in several of the apartments at Casa Moricciani. My husband and I first stayed in “Stelle Fisse” We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and the view from the shower window was amazing. Yes, the shower window. We have been back each year since and have brought family and friends. Each of the couples we have brought are now themselves returning guests at Casa Moricciani. The idea of waking up in a beautiful apartment with 2 huge bedrooms, each with beautiful beds, linens, living room and of course a kitchen to die for is on the first floor “Primo Mobile”. It is the perfect apartment for two couples.
What can I say-everything you have read or you are about to read is absolutely true. Isabella and Carlo have renovated a beautiful home. You have all the luxuries of a 5 star hotel without needing to stay in a big city. The personal touches come from the heart. Isabella has put together a “handbook” (2 large, 2 inch binders), which includes information on many of the towns, restaurants, walking trials, vineyards and activities you may want to see or do during your stay.
You will begin your stay with “highlights” of the week. Carlotta Cosimini will meet with you and your guests on Sunday afternoon. She will help to facilitate anything you need-restaurant reservations, bike rentals, cooking classes, and vineyard tours-the list is endless. Don’t forget to add the “Dolce Vita” package-it is worth it. The villa comes stocked with fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, juice, milk, desserts and of course wine…If you are a coffee drinker, the espresso maker is amazing. Each morning imagine a beautiful cup of coffee sitting outside in the yard with the most magical view of the valley. The peacefulness of the villa and the town captures all of what is meant by a vacation. Casa Moricciani is my place of solace.
All of us have favorite activities while there and whatever you are doing during the week don’t miss out on Pici night at the Agisturismo Cretaiole di Luciano Moricciani with Isabella, Carlo, Luciano (Carlo’s father) and Carlotta. If Carlotta’s husband Giancarlo is available, and you enjoy getting to know others staying at any of the properties, plan on a dinner at Casa Moricciani. Giancarlo will come with all of the ingredients and prepare an amazing meal in Primo Mobile’s amazing kitchen. Finally, Nostra Vita (“Our Life”)-how better to taste a Rosso and/or Brunello di Montalcino wine then at a small family farm where harvesting is done by hand by the entire family. As an added plus, Annibale is an artist and you will be able to walk the grounds and admire artwork, which is displayed around the home and vineyard by invited artists and Annibale himself.
Isabella and Carlo Thank you for all that you do. Warm regards Donna and Richard Chapel Hill NC
