Any hotel or B&B to recommend in Bologna for a 3-night stay in September (yes, soon) for me and my husband? A simple place walkable to local sights, bars and restaurants would fit us best. Thank you!
I would go straight to booking.com. Lots of accommodations available. Choose just about anything within the ‘ring’ road and you’ll be close to sights, restaurants, et al. Bologna is very walkable. The closer to the Quadrilatero area means closer to the older part of Bologna. May mean more expensive also.
We stayed in a very nice airbnb for 3 nights on Augusto Righi our first time through and then stayed at another for 10 nights later that same trip. It was across the street from Basilica dei Santa Maria Servi. Both locations were excellent for walking.
We stayed at Albergo Central Bologna last year; it's very simple, but clean and in a great location. The price last year for an en suite double, breakfast included, was €104 for a room in June.
Now, if you look at this one, check the location carefully. Evidently the address on the internet is not the same as the address at which we stayed. We almost missed a great food tour because of that! I think our hotel was at Vicolo Cattani 7. It's very quiet, tucked back a couple of blocks from a major thoroughfare.
We stayed at Art Hotel Novecento in the middle of the historic district , so convenient to everything.
