My husband and I are travelling to Austria and Italy for our 25th wedding anniversary. We are in Bellagio September 4 - 8. My husband's birthday is on the 6th and I would like to take him to a restaurant with wonderful food and service. Any suggestions?

Jill, given you have no responses, there are numerous nice restaurants in Bellagio.
I don't normally recommend restaurants, but we enjoyed a number of days in Bellagio in 2014 and by far the best food and service we received was at La Fontana restaurant. for a 'normal' (eg: not high end) dinning experience. it was probably the best food we had in one month of travelling in italy. look it up on trip adviser etc. NOTE: I am not saying it would be the best place for an anniversary dinner, as its in a small alley,in the main town, not over looking the water. so probably not suited. but maybe investigate it for another meal? we were there in late May and found it while wandering the streets.

While staying at Hotel Metropole last year we had dinner at the hotel restaurant La Terrazza. It is right on the water with nice views, excellent service and great food.

We celebrated a few birthdays at Ristorante La Barchetta,it's been awhile, but reviews are still good. It was very nice, good food and service and a good choice for our parties. It was recommended to us by our concierge.

Another recommendation for a nice meal in Bellagio, perhaps not spectacular, but well priced and romantic, is the Ristorante in the Hotel Suisse, right on the main road, opposite the port. Outside or inside dining. Best veal osso buco I ever had.
