B&B Corte Campana in Venice, Italy

My husband and I stayed at the wonderful B&B Corte Campana June 9-12,2023. I read about the B&B in the most recent Venice guidebook then checked out the website (https://www.cortecampana.com). The amazing thing is how close the B&B is from Piazza San Marco. It's about a 2-3 minute walk away, and yet the building is down a very small street on a quiet courtyard. You would have no idea there is so much activity nearby, and we slept well and comfortably in the Sorea bedroom; and I should add that both the bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean. I definitely recommend Corte Campana.
The owners are Riccardo, whose family home has been turned into the B&B, and his American wife Grace. Upon our arrival Grace sat down with a large map and highlighter, asked about things we wanted to see and do, and shared information on city events. That map was so helpful and we never went out for the day without it. The two of them had tips we would never have known--one was that Venice is trying out late night hours on Friday and Saturday during the summer for some venues which are typically crowded, the Doge's Palace and Corer Museum included. We went to the Corer after dinner on Friday night and could move through the museum at our own pace and were often in galleries by ourselves. Who Knew!!

Riccardo and Grace are gracious hosts and we enjoyed visiting with them and other guests each morning at breakfast. They always asked about daily plans and offered recommendations and guidance, and went far beyond expectations without being asked. My husband showed Grace a photo of a hotel he had stayed in with his parents and brother 40 years ago (40 Years Ago!) and she was intrigued. The photo showed a small sign on one building. Riccardo and she consulted with their housekeeper who thought she knew the neighborhood, and then by some magic Grace figured out the photo had been flipped, managed to determine the street, and find the name of the hotel! We never expected we would find that hotel, but Grace is an amazing detective.

If we return to Venice we would stay at B&B Corte Campana without hesitation, and I recommend you do, too.

I stayed with Riccardo and Grace last year. They are lovely people. I plan to visit Venice again next year. I will absolutely stay at B&B Corte Campana again.

Stayed with them last May for 4 days based on reviews on this forum and it was even better than we expected. It was like staying with family (the good kind) and we felt like we had personal guides given all the excellent advice they gave. We have been planning a return trip as part of another tour. Highly recommend!

There is no price for rooms on the website. May I ask what you paid?

We paid 115 euro per night last year, discounted by mentioning Rick Steves. Not sure if there’s any difference in price for different rooms or if there was a discount for staying 4 nights. We had the Dei Mii room. We thought it was a bargain especially for the location and service.

I also paid €115/night for 4-night stay in the Fradei Room. Shorter stays were €125/night. I stayed in September last year. I don’t know if the rates are the same this year.

I agree that it's a wonderful place to stay! We stayed in the Sofia room (with private bathroom down the hall). It was 135 euros per night in Sept 2023.
