Attic Room in Venice

I have confirmed reservations at Hotel Guerrato.
They have confirmed 2 nights in attic room with private bath. Has anyone had experience with this?
My wife and I would have no problem with stairs, but not sure how many floors there are until you reach the attic.
We're travelling next May, so we have time to change reservations if need be.

Are there more than one attic room? One review on TA said their room was on the 4th floor, another said they were up 6 flights of stairs. That may have been the same room with two different views of how far up it was, or there may be more than one 'attic' room on different levels.

I've stayed at the Guerrato a few times. Great choice, by the way.

The main floor is just one level up from the street, but is two "flights" up, with a landing, if I recall. This would explain the 4 floors / 6 flights anomaly.

So, in short, its street level, main level, second level, attic level.

If it's a problem, you could ask to be changed if a room on a lower floor opens up -- it's a long time until May. FYI, there's a chair on the landing above the breakfast-room floor (main level) if you need to rest from the stairs. Nice place!

What darrenblois said. I second that it's a great choice - people, location, ease of access to everything. I was there first of May this year and will go back my next visit to Venice. Enjoy!

Hey Jim
I have read good and bad reviews of this hotel. Knowing about climbing flights of stairs with luggage is not something i want to do again, (5th floor). We stayed in an apartment in the San Polo area couple years ago that has a small lift and an attic apartment. The couple that run the place are great and we were able to leave our bags since arriving early. Good location and we were able to explore everywhere and come back to peace and quite. If interested you can PM me.

We've stayed in those attic rooms several times. It's not really attic. It's just the top floor. There are 3 or 4 rooms on this floor and they all share a common sitting area. Pensione Gueratto is a great price if you don't mind carrying luggage up and down stairs.
