Could someone recommend an apartment in Florence for two? We would like that to be our "base" and then travel from there. We are looking at staying 7 days or so. Thanks!
That looks amazing! Thank you so much.
If you have a car (you don't need one in Florence), make sure overnight parking is taken care of. Don't just assume there will be convenient overnight parking in Florence, always check.
We stayed at the Casa Nicola found through VRBO. I have a thing for Santa Croce and it is right across the street. It's also across the street from the leather school.
You can learn more about the apartment and our neighborhood here. There are also some reports on Florence and Tuscany in reverse order starting there. They include our take on the Best of Tuscany tour we took with our daughter and grand daughter. It was a long day, but well worth it, even for the 5-year-old. If you decide to do that, try to get Stefano as your guide. He was great.
Stayed here for 5 nights in March of this year. About a block from the Firenze SMN train station. Right on the 15th century Piazza Santa Maria Novella, 2nd floor overlooking the square. Great gelato kiddy-corner across the piazza. Restaurants galore in every direction, grocery store 3 minutes away. Reasonably-priced. A tremendous base for day tripping, except because it was so great, so much made us feel 'Florentian', we stayed in Florence the whole time and just wandered. So cool to have a 'home' to come back to each night.
Jay: I love that apartment! When we decide on dates, we will definitely check that one out. Thanks!
