Anyone with recent experience with Rosetta Inn in Rome?

Has anyone stayed at the Rosetta Inn recently and can provide any feedback about their experience? I'm staying there for a few days next week, and I booked it because it was recommended in the Rick Steves Italy book (2025). I've emailed twice asking whether they can store luggage and I haven't received a reply. Their lack of response is concerning to me, and between that and the fact that it's a 1 star hotel, I'm starting to get nervous about my upcoming stay. I'd appreciate hearing about anyone's recent experiences with them, and also whether anyone has any suggestions for getting a response. (I do plan to try calling them if email doesn't work!)

Never been there but ---

has an 8.3 rating.

Not sure what you are looking at when you say '1 star hotel', but often for Europe the 'stars' are not how good it is, but the level of amenities it offers. i.e., concierge, room service, pool etc.

Given the rating on booking and the fact you find it in the RS book, I would not be overly concerned.

If they can't store your luggage, they can probably point you to where you can.

The European star rating system is misunderstood when translated to the US. The stars have nothing to do with "quality." As Joe above indicated it is total related to amenities provided and it varies some from country to country. If you google it, I am sure you can find a list of what is provided at each star. For example -- a 24 hr front desk is worth extra stars. For us, stars are not a big deal as we look primarily for location and then price. Anything after that is a bonus.

Most places have some luggage storage for the day. It is not always secure. Maybe in a corner of a room behind the front desk. Multi-day storage is a different question and generally not available. For us, we have never had a problem. Our luggage has a well worn look so it may not be attractive to a thief. The fact they haven't responded doesn't mean much. And sometimes it is very hard to respond to all the e-mail at the smaller hotels. You will be fine.

PS In the future, you probably would get better responses, maybe more, if you post your question in the proper section. This area is for reviews after you have stayed at the hotel, etc.
