We ((my adult son and daughter and myself) had the pleasure of staying at La Bruciata for four beautiful nights in November 2018 to celebrate my retirement and 65th birthday. If you are considering staying at a farm/agriturismo in the country within walking distance or a quick drive to magical Montepulciano, then I would highly recommend staying at La Bruciata. Laura is such a lovely person and host, and wants to accommodate everything for her guests. We loved the homemade breakfast and dinners in the dining room for all guests, had fun talking with other guests, laughed and talked all through the amazing cooking class, and felt truly at home in our stunning accommodations of a two floor apartment, kitchen combined with a dining/living room. We each had our own bedroom, there were two bathrooms. These well appointed three gorgeous bedrooms with handmade embroidered bedsheets had views overlooking the Tuscan countryside. We thoroughly enjoyed the serene and gorgeous surroundings, lit a wood fire in the fireplace in our private apartment while drinking the complimentary homemade bottle of wine, slept beautifully in comfortable cozy beds, and woke up to stunning sunrises accompanied by excellent breakfast buffets. Two dinners cooked by Laura and her mother proved to be divine. And by the way, before we left, we ordered multiple bottles of olive oil to be delivered to us back home. You may purchase those from Laura. Laura’s mother who beams and nods politely as if she understands when you speak English, works closely with Laura, who is the one who has an excellent command of the English language, but delivers it with a wonderful Italian accent. It is walking distance ( less than two miles) to Montepulciano. We had rented a car, so I do recommend to rent one since there is less public transportation in the area compared to other parts of Italy. One day we walked up to Montepulciano which proved to be a truly delightful walk. We sauntered, not conscious of any time, and took so many unique pictures along the way. Seeing Montepulciano during November is magical because it is close to the holidays. It is quite the experience because the lights and decorations are breathtaking at night, and the daytime view from the top of Montepulciano cannot be surpassed. We had two delicious dinners at La Bruciata, one was combined with the cooking class. Making pici is much harder than it looks! We had so many laughs. For the other nights, Laura gave us recommendations to two restaurants for dinner that ended up being amazing, not just because of the food and service, but also because she knew the people so they treated us royally. One of the reservations she had personally made for us. There are many restaurants in the area, but the personal touch we received throughout our stay exceeded all expectations and has made an indelible memory for all of us. Staying at La Bruciata was by far the favorite place of our three week trip to Italy, and that includes Rome, Florence, and Cinque Terre. So if you want to adventure into the heart and soul of Tuscany, make sure you stay at Agriturismo La Bruciata. You will never forget it.
