A Wonderful Agriturismo Experience

Some time back we decided to take our bucket list trip to Italy. A friend suggested a place in Tuscany called Cretaiole and the rest is history. We visited for a week there this month and it was a wonderful introduction to a beautiful place! In the heart of Val d’Orcia which is the area we all have mental pictures of as Tuscany, this is an agriturismo - a converted farm building designed for visitors to stay in one of several apartments. The redesign was done so beautifully with modern conveniences and wonderful atmosphere. This is a family business and if you purchase the Dolce Vita package, you participate in a learning experience you will not soon forget. In our short time there, we went to two wine tastings, dinners, learned about the family farm, experienced olive oil tasting, went on a truffle hunt, had a photo safari afternoon with a professional photographer and more. You don’t have to do anything, but all of these activities allow you to be immersed in the culture of the area in a short time. Isabella and her family and staff make the visitors feel welcome and they are available for any assistance! I highly recommend this Italian holiday experience!!

We wanted a specific apartment and specific time of year, so I booked way ahead of time. This isn’t necessary if you have some flexibility but it is a place that people return to so don’t wait until the last minute.

They are a very popular agriturismo and we hear great things about them quite often.
