Four stars in Italy ( Europe) are not what they are in the USA...

I can tell you that I stayed at Hotel Adriano in Rome http://www.hoteladriano.com/en/

Normally I stay with relatives, but this past Oct. I stayed here because I was showing friends around the historic center... it was within 10-15 minutes walk to major sights such as Piazza Navona, Patheon and Trevi Fountain all about 8-10 minutes and The Spanish Steps about 12 minutes...leisurely walking....it was a 10 minute taxi ride from the Garibaldi train station...

Very easy walk to Trastevere too...

and had a great front desk services, courtesy umbrellas, bellmen, elevator, and free bar snacks at happy hour...
spotlessly clean and quiet, ask for a rear facing room. I had a classic room with courtyard view, bath tub, very comfortable but small room that is typical of cities like Rome and Paris...good wardrobe storage, nightstand with shelf and drawer, small desk, small mini bar and tv. Great towels and basic bathroom amenities.

If you book one of the suites it seems like it is far away in an annex, it is actually just another part of the same building, so you would have full access to all hotel services and lobby etc. I saw one of the terraces from a suite that had a family of 4 on it...looked nice.

Hotel guests were from U.S. , UK, Nordic countries and Italy.

After staying near. The Spanish Steps in the past, we now prefer to be closer to Piazza Navona and the Pantheon.
