Hello! Big fan of the forum, first time poster.
Myself and two friends will be in Milan for just under 24 hours this July. We will be landing Saturday morning at 7:30 am after a red eye flight and will be leaving the next morning at 6:40 am from Malpensa airport. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for the best place to stay for our Saturday night. Something budget friendly and convenient to sights and the airport would be our preference.

The Milan Airport is about 33 miles from the city center. I would stay at an airport hotel and just take the train into the city and back. Good luck. Sounds like a tiring 48 hours.
I agree that staying at an airport hotel makes the most sense. Though you may not be able to check in, you can at least store your luggage. Take the train in and center yourself around the Duomo. There is an interesting galleria there. If I had one day in Milan, I would get tickets for the Duomo.
