Worth a Stop in/around Limerick going from Dingle to Doolin?

We will stay 2 nights in Dingle, then drive to Doolin for the Cliffs. Should we go to Doolin via the ferry at Tarbert or via Limerick? I noted the followings things to see via Limerick: Tralee, Adare- thatched roof houses and heritage center, Limerick- King John’s Castle, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park & Durty Nelly’s. If there is not enough to see driving the Limerick route, we may just take the ferry. Any suggestions on the best way/best stops between Dingle and Doolin? Thanks!

The Hunt museum in Limerick houses a large collection of Irish antiquities.

The third option for getting to County Clare is the tunnel which bypasses Limerick and eliminates the wait for the ferry.

The Burren area in County Clare is fascinating.
