There is a road map of the Wild Atlantic Way by Collins for sale on Amazon. It was out of stock and the new ones were to be mailed mid May. Now they are not available until mid July. At this point, I have a solid working itinerary though always willing to make modifications should something of interest pop up. We leave end of August and I'm thinking maybe I'll just cancel the order since it essentially is not available for my planning. However, curious if any forum folks have done the Wild Atlantic Way and did they feel a road map would be helpful?
There is a map here.
You can also buy a digital guide here. (NOTE I've not used this so don't know how good it is...)
Alternatively have a look at [this website.][1] Click on any of the 14 stages and then click on the map. This brings up an interactive map with points marking the maon places of interest with a small photo.
Thank you Wasleys. The first map, in particular is helpful. I love the pictures available at the scenic spots. I should have included a link to the map I was refering to. It's a paper road map, looks kind of like Michelin. I think I saw on a RS episode that the Wild Atlantic Way if very easy to follow, that there are signs all over. So I'm wondering if a road map is necessary.
Being old fashioned I would prefer to have a paper map (Wild Atlantic Way or anywhere else) to give me the wider picture- it may well show me places a bit off route I wasn't aware of.
I note that Tailte Eireann (basically the Irish Ordnance Survey) have such a map.- https://store.osi.ie/ireland-s-wild-atlantic-way-map.html?
Unfortunately TE are unable to ship to the US currently due to issues over you know what, but it will be available in country from map stores.
At a scale of 1:600,000 it is quite a broad picture. But you can get the 'inch to a mile' (1:50,000) maps for the route for greater detail. It's OK for me to say that as I have a fair few of them anyway (bought over the years), as I recognise that would be a fair financial (and weight) investment.
