Wicklow Recommendations

Hubby and I will be staying in Dublin and are interesting in taking a day trip to Wicklow on a Saturday in August.

I'll be in my second trimester - so we're open to anything that we can do at our leisure.

We won't have a car, so we're leaning towards the train - would there be a lavatory on the train?

Any recommendations for a day trip to Wicklow? There are lots of Gardens but some appear to be open only to small groups.

You might check out Paddywagon tours. They have day tours to Glendalough, I think. I’m not sure how leisurely it would be, but it’s inexpensive and the guides are interesting.

Have a wonderful time, and happy parenthood!

Although we haven't been to Ireland yet, my wife and I booked a day tour from Dublin with "Wild Wicklow Tours" as recommended by Rick. We checked out the other tours and thought this had the best bang for the buck. The "Rick Steve's" discount offered is the same as the Senior Price: 28 Euros/ea.

So if you're a Senior (65+) that's the best price you'll receive. Here's a link with all the details:

Maybe other readers of Rick's Travel Forum who had taken this tour can provide their actual experience with the tour.

Have a wonderful trip!
