Me and 1 travel companion will be in Dublin for 5 nights in August, 2023. Can you recommend a contact and $$ for daily tours? Where do you recommend seeing and would also like hotel recommendations. Thank you all so much.
Honestly the RS Dublin guide would help you plan your visit.

As far as must sees what are you interested in. History, art, music, food, shopping?
IMHO 5 nights in Dublin are 3 nights too many.
You can research day tours to Glendalough, Newgrange and visit Belfast in Northern Ireland.
For a private day trip we used Custom Irish Tours, https://www.customirishtours.com/. The owner, Derek Smith, was recommended to me by a former RS tour guide. I believe it was 500 euros for the day. For a group tour to Newgrange, Mary Gibbons Tours, https://www.newgrangetours.com/ . As for where to go and what to do, what are your interests? Regarding where to stay, I enjoyed The Wilder, https://www.guestreservations.com/the-wilder/booking?gclid=EAIaIQobChMInabk4Iin_QIVziytBh2E3APGEAAYAiAAEgLK7vD_BwE.
We've always had good luck using the Trip Advisor Things to Do pulldown menu when visiting a new location - especially when we're trying to make up our minds about whether to book an organized tour or proceed independently. Plus, it's just a good resource for highlighting local attractions that we never would have considered.
I think you'd find it an excellent starting point for researching Dublin-based tours, their duration, pricing, etc according to your particular interests. I've generally found the reviews to be pretty trustworthy.
Regarding accommodations: you'll generally find that anything in the city center (around Trinity College & Temple Bar) will be pretty expensive in August, but prices start going down as soon as you look a bit further afield. The area north of the Liffey would be a good place to look, as well as further south in the Ballsbridge area. We like This Place which is about 10 minutes on foot to St Stephens Green.
We enjoyed a bus tour to Glendalough and Kilkenny. I don't remember the tour operator.
Hi, I just returned from 4 nights in Dublin and took the DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) to Malahide Castles and Gardens. It was an easy approximately 30 min train from Dublin Connolly Station to Malahide for about 10 Euro per person round trip. Nice to get out of the city for a bit and experience a tour of Malahide Castle. As far as hotels, please check out Stauntons on the Green, great location for walking around Dublin and they have beautiful rooms and an amazing breakfast package. Just a wonderful hotel! Enjoy!
