Which area is right for us to stay in Dublin

Hello. I will be making a first trip to Dublin this summer. I am wanting to use a site to book a hotel that doesn't tell me the name of the hotel until I book to try to save since hotels in Dublin are on the expensive side during the time when I will be traveling. However, I am not sure which areas of town to select for the search. Can anyone advise me? Some of my choices are St. Stephen's Green, St. Patrick's Cathedral, City Centre, or Ballsbridge.

We would like a hotel that is middle of the road in terms of cost and amenities, in a quieter area, and close to public transportation/train station. Which of these areas would you recommend (or is there another?)

Does it give you the option of Dun Laoghaire? It is close to the Dart ( train), quieter, seaside and usually more affordable.

Yes, Sharon, it does. I'll give that area a look. Thanks

Ballsbridge could be described as a nice 'leafy suburb' with good bus & train links into town. Not sure how cheap the accommodation there will be though!

Ariel House is across from the train station near Aviva Stadium and near St. Stephen's Green. Not super expensive relative to other places and had a lovely breakfast.

The Morgan Hotel in Temple Bar. Easy walking distance to Trinity College, shops & restaurants.
