There will be 4 of us traveling - 2 golfers, 2 non-golfers - with one car. Can anyone recommend a place to stay outside Belfast that would provide public transportation into Belfast for the non-golfers and a 30 minute-ish drive to Royal County Down for the golfers?

It's less than an hour's drive from Belfast to the golf club, so why complicate things? Ie why not just stay in the city and have the golfers drive a few extra minutes?
Morning commuter traffic will be going in the other direction so I doubt that'll be an issue. The center is pedestrian friendly, and the bus system is pretty easy to figure out for trips a bit further afield.
