We'll be in Belfast for 1 night and would like to be near fun pubs. We'll be taking a black cab tour to Giant's Causeway that day. Where would you suggest we stay? Thanks.
I would look for something in the City Center around the City Hall or down near Shaftesbury square. Here are a few you could try. Look at Rick's Ireland guidebook for more suggestions.
CITY CENTER
Hotel Europa www.hastingshotels.com
Jurys Inn www.jurysinns.com
SHAFTESBURY
Benedicts Hotel www.benedictshotel.co.uk
Ibis Belfast Queens Quarter www.ibisbelfast.com
There are good pubs all over
Premiere Inn in the town center, Cathedral quarter or the one in the Titanic Quarter. The small Spaniard pub is nice but get there early as it is small. Otherwise join the masses at the Duke of York then amble over to the John Hewitt on Donegal street. I like Kelly's Cellar but that because I love the fresh mussel's and seafood chowder at Mourne's which is next door. It's not a huge city so easy to enjoy on foot. Enjoy the Giant's Causeway, definitely unique in an out of this world way.
