Where to spend more time? Edinburgh or Dublin?

I am taking a 14 day vacation to Ireland with my two kids, ages 11 and 13. We are flying into Belfast and plan to take a flight to Edinburgh. In planning out our itinerary I am, having trouble choosing between 3 nights in Dublin and two nights in Edinburgh vs 3 nights in Edinburgh and 2 in Dublin. I have been to both and love them but it's been 14 years since i have been. We are planning a driving tour of Ireland including the Antrim Coast (checking out Game of Throne territory), Dublin, Kilkenny and Dingle, flying back out of Shannon. Hopping around quite a bit in the beginning and then spending longer more relaxing time in the Dingle area. We are traveling July 26th to August 9th. Any feedback would be appreciated!

I would vote Edinburgh. I think there's more variety--particularly in terms of things that yoir kids can enjoy as well.

We just returned from a three night/two full day stay in Dublin. Our first night was basically getting there, heading straight to dinner & then back to the hotel. I thought two full days were more than enough for seeing the sights, having leisurely lunches/pub stops & time for shopping.

I would also vote for Edinburgh. We spent 8 days there and were still discovering parts of the city. Dublin is my least favorite part of Ireland....

Edinburgh has more to do and more places to wander, plus you can take a bus to craig-miller castle or Roslyn chapel is you have time. Dublin seemed much more compact and needing less time to see. It does have some nice bars, but every town in Ireland and Scotland has those. Antrim coast is beautiful (Giants causway and carrick-a-rede bridge) and you can tour the Bushmills distillery.

Edinborough. AINEC.

Don't get me wrong Dublin is a fine City and all but Edinburgh is very very cool and there's lots to do within a pretty short distance of there.
