I've been trolling the internet in hopes of finding a straight answer on this besides what St. John's Eve traditionally entails. So far, I've had little luck. Where is the best place to be in Ireland on the 23rd?? I would like to see a traditional celebration with the lighting of the bonfires. Any help on this topic is greatly appreciated!!

Hi Mary,
When I was a boy growing up in Ireland we used to celebrate bonfire night as we called it. But by the time I was 17 or 18 it had all but died out and I have not heard of anyone going to bonfire night in over 25 years so I would not be to hopeful of you experiencing that old tradition, but perhaps I'm wrong.
