I would appreciate feedback on the time it would take to drive from Westport to Dublin. Any suggestions on route as well would be appreciated.

Www.viamichelin.com shows the shortest route at 3 hrs 44 minutes, the longest at 4 hours 6 minutes. Adding a bit to give you a more realistic answer, that would be 4 hours 40 minutes to 5 hours and 8 minutes. ViaMichelin will show you alternate routes and give you cost info as well.

I drove from Westport to Dublin airport last summer. It took a little more than 3 hours via N5 and M4. If you're going into Dublin city that will add a little time.

Assuming you drive N5/N4 then M4, it's about 160 miles into edge of Dublin - that's about a 4 hour drive, plus perhaps 20 minutes extra to get into Dublin City Centre ('An Lar') if you need to. There are tolls payable on Irish motorways (M4 for instance) - see http://www.eurolink-m4.ie/

Thank you all for your response. Mark - did not know about the toll roads. Will investigate more for the rest of our journey.
Have ordered a Michelin Map and will check their website as well.
