Western Way route advice

We're walking the Western Way from Oughterard to Westport. (Our trip is in late May.) We were told this should take about five or six days. Does that sound right? Does anyone have suggestions on how to break up our walking trip?

We're also wondering if anyone can recommend a map. We'd like to have a physical map as it's a good back up to a phone based app. Finally, is there any place along this route that you'd stop for an extra night either to do a day hike or visit an attraction along the way?

All of your feedback is appreciated.

My first thought was Ordinance Survey maps, which w as the st as dated when we did a bike tour in western Ireland more than a dozen years ago. Looking that up just now, it turns out that the Ordinance Survey Ireland was dissolved a year ago, and replaced by a new government agency.

Looking further (and maybe you’ve already seen this), what appears to be a good, and well priced option is this book with maps: https://www.trailheadireland.com/EastWest_Mapping-The_Western_Way

An additional suggestion: When you reach Leenane, due west of Westport, go for a short cruise with Killary Fjord Boat Tours. The Killary is the only real fjord in Ireland, and their tour is the only one this side of Norway. We really enjoyed the ride and the views, and had a bowl of mussels onboard, as we passed mussel farms in the water where they were grown.
