We are going on a RS 14 day Best of Ireland tour April 10 to 23, 2026. What can we expect the weather to be like. Maybe expect is the wrong word. Lol
Thank you
If there's one month in the year when you're likely to experience all 4 seasons in one day it's probably April. It'll be showery but in our experience the rain passes quickly and gives way to sunshine ... or hail ...or snow ...well you get the idea.
It's our favorite time of year to visit - fewer crowds and the countryside a riot of springtime colors. You'll love it.
Waterproof/water resistant shoes would be the best purchase for the trip. As mentioned expect everything.
There are numerous websites that give various climate data based on historical averages. This site does into a bit more detail than most:

We were there in April in 2016 and it was sunny and in the 80's. Don't count on that!
We were in Ireland the end of March this year and we had sunnier weather than expected, wind and a bit of rain. If you are from the PNW (Seattle, Vancouver BC, Portland), the weather will be similar. If you are from other parts of N. America, plan for everything (except snow) in one day. Layers are your best bet. I usually have a waterproof rain coat but have never needed water proof pants or shoes in my Ireland travels. I also usually carry a travel umbrella but I've yet to use it. Hopefully this is helpful! Enjoy your visit!
Thank you all for the weather info. I think mid April will be a great time to go to Ireland. We will be prepared whatever the weather gods throw at us. We are so excited for our trip-my first time in Ireland.
