We are in Dublin now, thinking small day trip tomorrow

It is a little longer than 1/2 a day, but Belfast and the Belfast Titanic can make a great day trip.

Newgrange is a great day trip from Dublin.

For just a half-day I would probably take the train to either Howth or Dun Laoghaire - both are about 1/2 hr away and are nice seaside towns with enough to keep you occupied for a few hours and both have pretty good fish and chips. Glendalough is a bit farther and by bus (if you don't have a car) but well worth the time.

Thank you for your ideas. I think we will try Howth ! We will be staying in Belfast for a few nights later in the week. Looking forward to it all.

We went to Howth today and found it delightful ! We took advantage of the great photo ops!

We also took a day trip to Dun Laoghaire....enjoyed it very much!
