Now that I'm planning Ireland, I'm getting loads of advice from friends who have visited Ireland. One friend who had a car recommended Waterford Castle Hotel. I'm not sure it's worth fitting into the itinerary and budget, unless it's a magical experience for the $$$$$. We won't have a car, and most likely not golfing.
Has anyone stayed at this property? If we stayed for two nights, is there enough to do, and can we get back into town easily? I believe there's a water shuttle to the hotel.

I don't know about Waterford Castle Hotel but we stayed at the Granville Hotel and were very happy with it. It's walking distance to most things.

If it's not within walking distance of what you'd like to see, I wouldn't stay there no matter how nice it is. Convenience is always my top priority.
