While visiting relatives in the Republic of Ireland, we're going to visit Belfast in Northern Ireland for a couple of days. I'm very interested in learning more about the Troubles, and would like to do a walking tour. Will have three teenagers and 4 adults. Any suggestions on who to book a tour with? I've looked and found several, but would be interested in hearing from those who have done it. Thanks!
Hi Kathy608, we were in Belfast 2 years ago and did the walking tour with Coiste Irish Political Tours. We enjoyed it very much. It was A LOT of walking though, keep that in mind. We lucked out and it was just us and the tour guide, who was a former prisoner during the Troubles, so it was very informative from a personal perspective. Highly recommend!
I second the recommendation for Coiste Political Tours. You really have the chance to get a unique experience on recent Irish history. Quite simply one of a kind. Here is their website: https://www.coiste.ie/
Hi kathy608, thank you so much for asking this question. And thanks to AnnieD and Martin for recommending Coiste Irish Political Tours. My husband and I reviewed their walking tours, and we have decided to book a tour with them in May.
