Walking Tour in Old Dublin

We only have two days in Dublin. One day is planned to walk from our Temple Bar hotel to St. Patrick's Cathedral to tour the Cathedral. Afterwards we plan to walk to St. Stephen's Green or Iveagh Gardens for a picnic followed by a trip to the National Museum of Ireland - Archeology. The final stop will be at 15:30 with tickets to the Book of Kells exhibit working in the student tour of Trinity College if possible. Can someone help me with information on the best path to take to go by Dublin Castle, City Hall, Christ Chruch Cathedral (if not too far out of the way) and anything else that we should see while in this part of town? I would like to make the best of our walks between destinations and not walk by things a block away that we should see. Thank you!

Hi Scott, best advice is to get a copy of the 2017 Rick Steves Best of Ireland book. The self-guided walking tour of Dublin can be found on pages 45-51. The walk begins at the O'Connell Bridge, past the Abbey Theatre, Post Office, Moore Street Market, St. Mary's Pro-Cathedral, Gate Theatre, and ends at the Garden of Remembrance. Lots of useful info, maps, and travel tips!

Thank you. I have the book and we're doing that walk on day 2! We're also seeing Kilmainham Gaol and Old Jamison Distillery (should be open by the time we're there) that day. I just didn't want to miss something I should see on the other side of the river when walking from point to point. If anyone has streets I should use to go from my points listed in original post I would appreciate it.
