When we stopover for a few hours in Toronto from Dublin, will we have to pass through some kind of immigration check before boarding the next flight back to the US?
And, that next flight goes to Los Angeles LAX. Anybody have comments on the ease or difficulty level of making one's way through immigration and customs there? We arrive almost at midnight and will be very tired. Wondering how long it will take to get out and to our hotel shuttle. Thanks.
Just go with the flow. Follow the instructions that are on the signs. If you are confused ask some of the officials that are standing around. Its an experience you will never forget.
You haven't said which airline(s) your travel is on, which may be important because of terminal change etc. You will pre-clear US immigration in Toronto anyway, so will arrive in LAX in the same manner as a domestic passenger.
Thanks for the replies. We'll be on Air Canada. I'm glad to learn about pre-clearance in Toronto since we have HOURS there, and arrival in LAX is 11:20pm with about 4 hours to sleep before the next flight.
Say, anyone know how reasonably cool it would be to just hang in LAX instead of rushing out to a hotel and back??
Air Canada has this chart giving connection details for the different types, including international->USA.
