Very disappointed in Trim Hotel, cannot recommend

We have had such a wonderful trip and our last night at the recommended Trim Hotel is only just beginning. Sadly, we have been informed that the loud music clearly and loudly heard in our third floor room from the first floor wedding will continue until 2:30 am. Unacceptable when the primary purpose of your visit is to have a place to sleep. So very disappointed.

Maybe go down and join the party? It might be fun! :O)

Or ask your host for earplugs.

My advice is to give a bad review on TripAdvisor. I don't say that lightly, but based upon your description it sounds justified. Also, suggest to Rick's team that they exclude them from future editions. I think every guidebook tells you how to provide feedback. Edit: We had something similar at a Hilton in Dublin, loud wedding party in the bar (open to the lobby) blasting music that filled the entire first floor. We had a meal at the restaurant across the lobby, it was like we were eating at a disco. Oh well, we should probably have opted for room service since we were too tired to roam about for a restaurant in the neighborhood. Fortunately we could not hear it in our room though.

Oh for heavens sake, it's Friday night, party night in Ireland. There are parties of one type or another going on in every hotel in the country! Did you request a room away from the reception rooms when booking???

If you let it wreck your stay it will. Ridiculous to punish yourself......but that's all you end up doing.

We stayed above a pub that said noise would stop at 2am. It did but the two incredibly drunk Irish woman kept an argument going - LOUDLY till 4:30 am. We had places to go in the am and needed sleep. We could have gotten all indignant and pouty. Instead we turned on our tv....munched a couple stray bags of Taytos and had tons of fun watching Challenge (game show) network. We made it a fun memory. Plus we did calmly, and without being a demanding pain mention it to management when we checked out.

They on their own arranged a free breakfast for us at a bakery next door, a free dinner that night at the pub and a free pass on a cliffs of moher cruise. We never asked for a thing. At dinner we ended up talking a bunch with the manager - had a ton of fun, made a friend and got lots of cool.local advice.

You can make almost anything trivial like that a fun, laughable and possibly rewarding experience or you can wallow in annoyance and indignation and make yourself and everyone around you miserable. Hopefully the people's wedding wasn't cut short or diminished.

If you would have read the reviews on Trip Advisor for the hotel, you would have seen that this is a common complaint from guests at the hotel and the management states that Weddings/Receptions are their main clients. A response to an angry guest from them also stated that their weddings have DJ and last until 2am. While I feel for you, it looks as if management seems not to mind if the music keeps others awake.

You posted as your evening was just beginning. Can you come back and say how it all panned out?

What was the bride's dress like?

Weddings—a pitfall for the chateau crowd, too. If the hotel or chateau advertises a reception room,, beware booking on any weekend if you are looking for peace and quiet.

For the future - booking your stay at an AirBnB just about eliminates any chance of having loud "neighbors".

On first reading, I assumed that "Trim Hotel" was the name of the place and that it may, indeed, have been a guidebook recommendation. However, upon actually looking, I find no hotel by that name, and nothing with any similar name that's recommended in Rick's 2018 guidebooks. Online, I do find a Trim Castle Hotel, which advertises weddings on its home page.

And if you believe this, I can sell you the Brooklyn Bridge real cheap!
